Dalton powers past SB ChargersUpdatedMonday September 2, 2019 byRob Shur.
The 2019 season for the Senior Chargers opened with a tough test on the road against perennial league powerhouse Dalton.
Leading the offensive attack for the Chargers were quarterback Aaron Wilkinson who capped off tailback Shaun Frank’s impressive day by connecting on a 75yrd touchdown strike late in the game. The offensive line (Robbie Schur, Alex Geiler, Tyler Jacobs, Brayden Gerlitz, Kobe Brown, Westley VanSant, and Heyden Cutlip) performed well and dominated the second half of the game.
Fullback Sam St. Peter provided punishing blocks on the Dalton linebackers, and wide receivers, Frankie Walsh, Josh Liebenow, and Jesse Bonhotel ran free in the secondary all game long.
Defensively, the Chargers “run to the ball” style kept a potent Dalton in check. The defensive line (Alex Geiler, Brayden Gerlitz, Robbie Schur, Westley VanSant, and Heyden Cutlip) dominated the line of scrimmage, allowing for linebackers Kobe Brown, Sam St. Peter, Aaron Wilkinson, Tyler Jacobs, and Sean Frank, to stifle the run. The Charger secondary blanketed the Dalton reviewers - led by Jesse Bonhotel, Frankie Walsh, Arlo Merre, Luke Forouhar Graff, and Joshua Libenow - allowing only one completion the entire game.
The Chargers next take on the Pittsfield Bulldogs in another tough test next Sunday at 2:30pm in Pittsfield.
