Chargers Peewees blast past North Adams

Great Barrington, MA –  Southern Berkshire gave up a score on North Adams first possession but immediately answered when Michael Paris took a toss from Cooper Bunce 40-yards for the score.  Paris went untouched as Matthew Vallone, Logan Burdick, and Noah Inthirath sealed the end with great blocks.  Cooper Bunce added the 2-point conversation and the Charger never trailed again.

The Chargers offense was unstoppable all afternoon.  Paris had a big day, rushing for 100 yards on 4 carriers, hauling in 1 reception for 13 yards while scoring 3 touchdowns.  Bunce wasn’t far behind him as he compiled 60-yards on 2 carriers, 2-2 passing for 23 yards, a rushing score, and a 2-point conversation.    Mateo Buffoni continued his scoring streak by adding a 28-yard TD run, a 2-point conversation and a nifty 10-yard run.  Johnny Ireland matched his classmate by adding 47 yards rushing yards, a rushing TD, and a nice 10-yard reception.  Luca Bertini scored his first 2-point conversation along with his first career touchdown on a 30-yard rumble.

The offensive line played outstanding all day, Russell Hyde, Julian Swanson, Jordan New, Tyler Seward, Harry Morey, Chase Peyre, Kieran Bryant and Jaheem Dumpsen  consistently opened holes for the runningbacks.

Defensively, Sothern Berkshire was led by Ireland who had 7 tackles, Buffoni & Paris had 3, while Mason Reiners and Noah Inthirath had their first sacks of the year.    Bunce and Gunner Laine were steady at linebacker, while Ennis Walsh and Mikey Ireland locked the corners down.

Southern Berkshire will return to action next Sunday @ 11:30 against county rival Lee Wildcats.
